I THINK I HAVE A PLAN

I think I have a plan and I hope it works. We have been trying to figure out a way to go up North to look for a place to call home but not having much luck with wanted ad in newspapers this time.

When you put a phone number in the news paper it draws attention for places it was not intended for. Now we are getting calls from companies trying to sell stuff...even ATT telling about the new great deal they have going on. What don't these people understand..I am looking for a house so why would I want to talk to them about whatever they are selling.

I really am trying to stay positive and look at the bright side but so far it is staying very gloomy.
I really don't want to ride up there by myself to look around and have to make decisions myself and if Billy and I both go we could take the dogs but would have to leave the cats home alone. I would have NO one to check on them because I do not have any close friends here and just don't feel comfortable letting anyone have the keys to my house.

I think the cats would be O K since 2 of them are Farrel and the other one just stays in the guest room 24/7 unless we go in there and carry her out.
I think if we leave a lot of food available and more litter boxes and a lot of water they would be O K for 3 days and 4 max. Could even leave the lid on the toilet up if necessary (we don't have anything in there that would hurt them) but of course I would worry about them the whole time.

We would stay at the motel in an apt where my son lives and look around every day while there and maybe find something if we got lucky. It would be hard with the dogs unless we decide to leave the 2 Labs boarded at the one vet office (and of course I would then worry about them) My dogs have a very secluded life here..no one walks by our house and if someone just rides a bike past our house on the road they go crazy barking. There are a lot of people that would walk by our room at the Motel so they would bark constantly and that could be a problem.

And again..there is no one I could leave them with since they do take off when they get a chance and Maggie is a food thief. They have us trained but no one else could handle them.

They do have some fairly nice apartments at the Motel complex where my son lives and if push came to shove we could just pack up and put our furniture in storage and stay there for a while until we found something.
It is hard to ask anyone for advice since it is impossible to be in our shoes.
Just not sure which way to go but will keep praying that the Lord will lead us in the right direction.
This is what keeps me trying

I would be totally lost without my fur babies..and my kitties too. Guess I just need all of you that read this to say a special prayer for us.

Should have stayed there..all I gained from the move of leaving up there was My Maggie and Calli and more debt..I am sure that is what will happen and within a few months when weather is a little better and I have my moving sale and downsize a little more :)

I wish I had words of advice for you. Winslow Homer with all his medical issues keeps us at home. Day trips only and short ones at that. We are devoted to him as you are your's. Are you relocating to be closer to family? It is hard to stay with friends or family for any length of time and with pets too. Perhaps if you spoke to a realtor, he or she might have some words of advice. Good luck, Julie.

We are moving to be closer to friends and family but will not be staying with son..will stay in apt at Motel where he has one. Might end up living there if push comes to shove. I wonder if my dog's know what we are going through just because we love them :)

I love your pets too Nancy and I sure do wish we could have met when you lived down south which you and I both want to forget.

They will be fine as long as they are with you which is what they love best!

Ours travel very well and just being together is what you need to do with them.

I do pray you find a permanent place very soon. You sure do DEserVE it!

Prayers for you and Billy, keep us up to date with you and you plans!
HUGGIES!
Smiles, Cyndi

There are many motels that accept pets, all Best Westerns I know for sure, check before you go there as just ask for Pet Friendly Motels or do a Google search before you go with the area you are going too.

I don't know the area you are going and what motels are popular there.
